Hopped on the GT and rode up Mass. Ave. past Arlington High School, which was still busy being reborn.
Past the Massachusetts Avenue, Appleton Street, and Appleton Place intersection, notorious for its body count.
Up to Lexington Center and around the Battle Green, with a nod to the Minuteman and the birth of American democracy.
Then back down the hill past Mass. & Appleton again, in the known-to-be-dangerous direction, with glare-blinded drivers coming in the other direction..
That little ride prepared me to go home, fire up Zoom, and attend an Arlington Select Board meeting that had Appleton Street peril remediation on the agenda. They'd like us to know that they care very much about Safety... and Parking.
