I switched over to SRAM and then later Wippermann and haven't had a problem but I suspect that unless chainmakers do something special when 10-speed MTB groups rollout, we're going to be seeing even a higher rate of chain failures than we did with 9-speed.
Ya I wasn't part of that change. I came into the spot when 9 spd was common and 8 spd was going out. But I remember a2 fighting it like a machine. I broke a fair number of chains till I spent the extra on wipperman.
Considering right now I refuse to ride shimano it doesn't matter much unless sram makes the same mistakes shi!mano does
