After ensuring that the bike was "back to original" and shifting and riding well I started today on the installation of the Bafang BBSHD mid-drive system. It's going well and quickly. I expect it to be completed tomorrow except for the endless rearranging wires and the use of 2,587 zip-ties which is as time consuming as building the bike. I'll post photos tomorrow.
