I've heard "oh, I only use the rear brake anyway" a distressing number of times, and not just from newbie riders!

Outside of our Sheldon-enlightened bubble, there are still a lot of riders who think that the front brake is going to send them over the bars, so they rely only on the rear brake for "safety."
