I don’t know what happened that day in the Berkshires. Maybe some sort of electrical interference? The unit is wireless. Had never happened before and hasn’t happened since.

BTW...Also notice my PGS--Paper Guidance System--device. Never needs charging.
We also use Cateye bike computers, but it is the Strada model. We have also had similar experiences with ours. Once we blamed it on leaning the bikes against a Utility box, and another was leaning it right under an electrical panel. We've also had a couple that we could not figure out. It only seems to affect the Max speed. Otherwise, they are a good dependable computer.

However, they don't take rough treatment well. I crashed on a busy road, and did not notice that my computer popped of the bike and landed in the traffic lane.
