with apologies to Sir William

To work or to work perfectly is the question,
whether tis better to the shifting to suffer
The slings and arrows of out of spec gear
Or to match specs against a sea of troubles

I know we all want as cheap as possible and sometimes just want to try things for the heck of it, be IME with newer gear you need to think of it more and more as a system than components. It is the system that has to work. YMMV but I have found pushing specs and mix and match often does not give me the desired performance (shifting especially)
