Tire Not Seating - Another Thing To Check

Been humbled recently with mounting economical ChiCom made tires. They have actually been well worth the money but I have had a few issues. One of those issues has been the tire beads. On one of the tires the wire was not adequately covered with rubber and separated when mounted. Now I check all my tires closely ChiCom made or not. I was having some problems with a recent tire not keeping seated. It was not really a surprise as it is a Folding tire and needed time to conform to the shape of tire and tube. Still the bead would not hold even though it looked good. On feeling the thickness of the bead itself with my fingers I noted that it was appreciably thin at the place it would not seat. Measuring the thickness I noted a 2+mm change at the place it was not holding. Rats!!! So now I gotta check thickness of the bead too.... Ha
