I've had a few Paramount's over the years to know if one's the real deal or not. Lugs, fork crowns and serial numbers are dead giveaways. This one was on CL. I haven't done much in the last few years as the local supply of what I buy has died up and works been busier than ever. Out of boredom I decided to peruse CL ads searching with a few select terms. This bike was a short drive away but someone was already going to look at it. The owner said that person declined so I the quick trip yesterday.

When I got there it was very clear it wasn't like any Paramount I'd ever seen. Every typical identifier was different. Its 'back story' was interesting but I can be very cynical so I wont get into that for now. I went about the purchase as it it was a repaint but after extensively researching it seems to be legit. Waterford's website states they'd make them in color. The link in post #7 verifies this.

So...1988 50th Anniversary Schwinn Paramount with the gold fork and 25th Anniversary Shimano Dura Ace group (less pedals). Pics are crap....sun was in the wrong location Very low miles, probably only a few hundred at most. Middle TT cable is destroyed with corrosion in the general area, something was dropped on it.
