IMO, upgraditis is a bad road to go down -- it will NEVER stop. My philosophy is: If it works, keep using it, until it doesn't. Of course, if there is the possibility of selling the old stuff, and upgrading without much loss, then go for it. But don't upgrade simply for the sake of upgrading, especially if the old stuff will just end up in your closet.
