Brooks C13 application

Shrevvy offered up and I purchased the C13 which I had to look up to understand what it was. Lightest saddle Brooks makes and has carbon rails that are 7x9 cross section weighing in at 275g.

Great!

I wanted to put it on the De Rosa with the new Miche Supertype. Well.... It didn't work. The clamp on the Supertype has a hook on the front of the upper clamp and uses a grub screw to effectively clamp the rails between the upper and lower clamp parts as a safety feature. The clamp design is for a round rail and will not accommodate the 9mm height! Disappointment because the Swallow it was to replace is 200g heavier at 475 vs the C13 at 275g.

Good thing there are more than one high end bikes in the stable! The other most often ridden bike is the Pinarello Monetllo that was just converted to 3x9. It too has the Swallow but with a Super Record post. No problem.
The recent detail stuff I have always thought well of is are the tubular holders by Zeus, Vittoria and others. Several were purchased to mount spares to support the move from clinchers to tubulars. The mounting is a PITA to mount and with the C13 the approach had to change. The follow pictures show how the mount ended up.
This is a PSA for anyone wanting to use the carbon railed C13 with the Miche Supertype. I know there are a large number of you guys out there...... NOT. I can fix the problem by grinding off the hook and not using the grub screw, but I want to know if the saddle is a winner. Still on a quest for the ultimate saddle.
