Is this nine speed? If so, the Ultegra triples were known for this sort of thing. Sounds worse on the stand than on the road, but still, a slammer down into the granny.
Might have been a difference between 6500 and the improved 6510, but don’t remember offhand which one I had as it was over ten years ago.
