I was commuting 1000+km a month on an 80's bike I picked up of a trash heap until last Wednesday, when a guy coming around a pylon on the Alex Fraser bridge without paying attention hit me head on. I guess I could find some replacement fork, but the chainrings and front derailler were worn almost to non-function anyway so this was the nail in the coffin.
Now I'm putting the clicks on a pretty Marinoni steel frame, so smooth and fast, I can't imagine going back to a beater.
