Have you considered pulling a small trailer? I live in Rhode Island, and my wife and I left December 29 to head to south Florida for a couple of months. Obviously I had to bring a couple of my bikes for the two month stay. But for that extended stay, it meant I was going to need access to tools for working on the bike (which I’ve had to use a couple of times already). And of course extra clothing, etc. for both of us. We took a few days to get to our destination, and I actually did a couple of rides along the way. But, we pulled a 4’x8’ enclosed UHaul trailer. At around $15 per day, that’s going to add +/- $250 to your budget. (Maybe you company would pay for it since it’s an extended work trip.) But, the trailer could also function as a bit of a workshop and changing room. It protects the bikes from the road grit, and you wouldn’t need to keep them in your hotel room(s).
