Smarter breed of thief

This crime was more funny than disturbing. Someone tried to lift some stuff off of my friends Specialized Rockhopper. They got his wedgepack ok, but had some trouble with the other stuff. The seat had a quick release on it, but this didn't daunt him. He simply sat there and took the time to completely unscrew the lever from the seat tube! Then he went for the rear wheel, only to be foiled by an especially protective set of V-brakes. He countered with a brilliant attack from a 5 mm allen wrench (forget about unhooking the darn things). He must have gotten interrupted in this second task, because he left in the middle and his haul for the day consisted of one quick release lever, the (empty I think) wedge pack, and one hex screw.
It's really angering that people do this crap, but at least this guy didn't get much and he was dumb enough to give us something to laugh at.
