I don't think there is way to figure it out based on serial number as I hear all the records were lost when the factory burned down. I haven't come across anyone saying they can tell from the serial number (but I sure would be interested if anyone can). Also mine is a 1970 and it doesn't have "70" anywhere in its serial number.
