excellent, thanks for that advice. so my next question is, if i was to buy that replacement, how does it attach to the bike frame?

i though the replacement part would look like that photo, but with thinner sleeve going down into the frame by a few inches. that photo looks pretty much like what i have now, although instead of a raggy edge where it has snapped on mine, the new one has a smooth edge.

am i missing something obvious?
