Lol. I wouldn't speak to that person again.

In order of importance as far as "better at climbing" is concerned.

1.) Fitness Level / Strength
2.) Skill
3.) Type of bike...Hardtail or full suspension...Some full suspension bikes suck at climbing due to pedal bob.

Least important...

4.) Tire size.
