Knowingly riding in close groups with equipment you know is in "pretty bad shape" is irresponsible and negligent.
Speed wobbles aren't a risk in a group, im a smooth and courteous rider because I have to be, lots of scrutiny on the dude with flat pedals. I left the ride when people got sketched about the wheel (some racers on the coretech team that I ran into before the ride said screw it do the ride.) I resent being labeled as dangerous I try hard to be safe in a group, even if the group norms are opposing the cycling culture I used to be involved in
