This behavior doesn't happen in either of my Garmins. Meaning it's possibly to prevent this the way things are now. The head unit probably has to do any filtering of events given what you describe, because the Varia doesn't know if the head unit is going to notify you about a turn, that you're entering a segment, or that you got a text message.
oh, interesting! Maybe it’s something specific to Wahoo implementation? There goes my theory, in any case! I’ll have to pay closer attention to what’s happening on my unit, and go back and watch some of the reviews from guys like GPLama and DCRainmaker to try to get a better grip on what’s happening.
