Bikes: Tarmac Disc Comp Di2 - 2020

The Shimano compatibility document shows that for a FC-R7000 crank you can use either a BB-RS500 or a SM-BBRS60. Of course this assumes your BB shell is threaded. And don't confuse the BB-RS500-PB which is press fit.

Get familiar with the Shimano compatibility documents that go back to way back when in their archives. And look at all the other documents too that they make available to anyone. Especially if you are going to select Shimano components to put on a bike.

As to whether one is better, I can't say. However I see nothing strange about two different items being made with different stuff and size parts and still arriving in a shape that will fit the same BB shell on a bike.
