I've only used the regular, bought it exactly for the rain considerations. It's ok for me, but not as comfy as B17, and I'd like to try a cutout one to have more "flex".
Mine is not on a bike presently, if you ever come to Montreal, I'd be happy to lend it to you for a while to actually try out.
