Depends on age, I had mine pretty early at 25 and was fine after in terms of riding. Recovery is different for everyone, but if you are honest with your intentions with your physical therapist, they will be able to give you a realistic expectation: could be bike ready in 4 months, or 12, or they might suggest recumbent, etc.
