If you want 11 speed SRAM, all of the shifters are X actuation, so you will need an X actuation rear derailleur.
You could go to 10 speed with your current derailleur and a GX 2x10 shifter. The 2x10 version is Exact actuation and the 11 speed versions are X actuation.
Note that the Max cog size for the X5 rear derailleur is 36t, so not a good option of you are switching to a 1x drivetrain.
