I was in the same boat as the OP with my bike build… My OEM post was too rigid and I felt like i was going to be rocketed over the washboards with it. I then put on a suspension seat post I had laying around… that solves that issue. But as I started to ride more aggressively, I realized I wanted a dropper post. I decided on getting the PNW Coastal along with their handlebar lever. I just ordered it yesterday through my LBS. My LBS is charging me the same amount as if I bought off line, but they will install it for free and warranty out labor if something should fail. Also my LBS does all of the maintenance on my bike.
