The boy and I will probably finish Top Gun tonight and then see Maverick sometime in the next week or two (unfortunately, he's got another few weeks of school left, so no weekday matinee). Like Dune, last year, this seems like one that should be seen in the theater.
So far the reviews I've heard are:
"******* amazing!" - friend in Vanco, WA
"It was amazing. They have it on 4 screens over there." - octogenarian at work (I work approx 100 yards from a movie theatre)
Oddly enough they both referred to it as simply "Top Gun", not Top Gun 2 or Maverick.
