I settled on 1:75s and used them for everything for years. I still have that pair that she purchased in about 1998. Last month I got a new prescription pair to use around the house for tv, computer, etc. They are around 2.0, according to the ophthalmologist, but I have a difference between my eyes.

My friend, who is your age, wears a contact lens in one eye for everything. We were on a ride once and it migrated up under his eyelid. Must have been annoying.
