Except I don't like automatics, and I've had them for years, why don't I like automatics you scream? If you keep your cars for a long time, most cars, except for Toyota and Honda and their luxury brands, is that they only last no more than 150,000 miles, and today's 6 plus speed autos are very expensive to rebuild. I know, next you're going to tell me that clutches don't last long, that does depend on who is driving the manual, but all my clutches lasted over 200,000 miles and that included power shifting, besides, a clutch is far less expensive to replace than an auto trans.
However, another argument for auto trans is that supposedly they save more fuel than manuals do nowadays, well that's great till that transmission blows, then all the fuel you saved is gobbled up by the rebuild cost and then some.
Autos came into fad because Americans are lazy and can't drive their cars correctly, the same reason you can now find auto parallel parking on some cars, Americans can't park either even though that is supposed to be part of the driving test when you get your license!! Then along came auto slow and stop because Americans can't pay attention to their driving, auto warning of things to your left and right because Americans can pay attention to where they're at, and soon will come a true auto driving car because Americans simply can't drive period.
Oops, did I start a fire storm?
