It was a stiff chain link, ended up buying a new chain as I didn’t know the history of the one on here and for $20 it’s an easy fix.

You could have fixed that stiff link by simply flexing the chain back and forth at the link to loosen it up. Keep the old chain as a replacement when your new one elongates 1/16" out of 24 links (12" of new chain length).
