You need quite a bit of speed to clear train tracks. I hate getting passed on downhills, but one time in Colorado on a long straight downhill, a dude who was down on aero bars was starting to pull away from me at about 45 mph when I saw him sit up and grab brake. There was a railroad crossing coming up, so instead of slowing down I bunny-hopped it and never saw Mr. Aerobar again!
