The one it came with actually seems like a reasonable saddle -- they sell it for $100, so I presume it isn't like the plastic temporary pedals some bikes have.
I can't make sense of this. Or is pedals suppose to be saddles?
The other thing I noticed is that the smaller-framed bikes have a wider saddle than the larger-framed bikes.
Maybe they figure more of the smaller frame bikes will be bought and ridden by women. I believe that the women typically have wider sit bones. Whether that's true or not I don't know. But even within that group, I'm sure there are those that don't need wider saddles.
