If you used a freewheel hub intended for a multi-speed casette, you can use a chainline closer to center.
Sheldon Brown has some chainline offset tables on his web site for various cranks, hubs, and freewheels.
Not sure yet what the rear chainline measurement will be. I haven't gotten a rear hub yet. In fact, I'm not even sure yet if it will be a freewheel or cassette rear hub. Thanks for pointing me to the Sheldon Brown article, though.
