A little over a year ago I finished piecemealing a group largely from EBay for a De Rosa build and it was north of 1,2000. I found the rear derailleur by far the hardest thing to find (at least in good shape). I offered one seller 500 for a nice rear derailleur and they never even responded! In my experience the stuff is really valuable to the right person. Good luck!
that is my experience too. i started shopping pieces on ebay before i got a donor bike ith the full groupset (always the preferable way if it is possible - i was just lucky).
i scanned the finished auctions on ebay but with not much of a result, while several parts are being offered with a "buy now" price, almost none seem to sell... anyway the potential buyer has decided against it before we negotiated a price, so i will sell it separately. we'll see... thanks for all the input!
