Lancaster bike accident
This happend last Saturday (Feb. 25th)
"John Emswiler, the equipment manager for the Men's Athletic Department was hit by a car while riding his bicycle this past Saturday. He is now in Lancaster Hospital in a medically induced coma, according to his wife, Susan.
Emswiler, a 20-year veteran of the University, was on a training ride with a friend outside of Millersville when an oncoming car forced Emswiler to swerve out of the way. He hit his head on a patch of gravel, according to police reports.
He suffered a severe head injury, a shattered femur, and broke several other bones. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to the police.
Emswiler was rushed to Lancaster General where doctors performed emergency brain surgery Saturday evening to relieve pressure in the skull.
According to his wife, Susan, doctors have said that he will likely recover fully though it may take up to a year and a half. ...." -MU snapper
