@ Chic,
Probably, some. But would not reccomend it. It would probably do little since you are not riding (you are not shifting your weight, the saddle is not soaking up bumps etc) just sitting on it in a static uncomfortable way. I would not bother. If you read this whole thread you will find tons of tips to make the break in (almost) painless. The most important being:
1. When the Brooks is new make sure it is set up correct and you don't stay in the saddle too much. Take short breaks every ten minutes of riding, decreasing the period over time. After 100 to 700 miles you should be able to sit in your Brooks for many hours without pain.
2. If you want instant gratification get a ball peen hammer and/or use the hydrophane method. You have to be carefull with either or your Brooks will be ruined.
I still feel method 1. is the best and safest. Method 2. is nice for waterproofing your saddle once it has shaped.
@ JCM, Nice Bikes! I am really digging the north road bars, those are way better than most people think. What brand/model stem is that adjustable one?
Anybody know why the bars are actually called 'North Road'..? What is the difference between Dove Bars and North Road?
