Had a hard time getting motivated to ride this morning. So, I lounged around the house for an extra hour or so puttering around getting my stuff together. Over the weekend I wanted to get a big ride in, so I pulled off the studs and even cleaned and oiled the chain. The bike rides soooo smooth now, and fast.
After riding 40 hilly miles yesterday, I aparrently did not properly refill the tank last night. Half way to work this am I noticed that I was really hungry....2 minutes later I was getting weak. Bonk! Guess I should toss in a snack bar or 2 for next time I do that. Trying to lose weight and significant cycling miles is a delicate balance of calories in vs calories burned.
Only 1 idiot tried to kill me on the way in... was crossing over a freeway exit ramp, [I had the green] and this fool was looking back behind me and started to pull forward. At the last second he returned his gaze forward and got that "oh crap, I almost killed a cyclist" face. I was already evasive and would have cleared but the look on his face was priceless
