Bending spokes to lace them
Hey all,
So I've just finished (I hope) a nightmare of a wheel build.
A little background: I've probably built 25 sets total over 10 years, mostly for my self and my father, but a few at a shop I worked at for a while. I consider my self very capable, but not very efficient. I can build an excellent wheel, but I'm just not doing it consistently enough to learn to do it quickly.
Anyway, I just built a wheel that was just problem after problem. For brevity sake I'll spare the details and get to my question:
I had to replace all the non drive spokes because they were too short. Probably would have worked, but I had the longer spokes so why not, right? I did it by detensioning all the non drive spokes while leaving the drive side alone. But, when I inserted the new heads-out spokes, I had to work them a bit to get them over the crossed drive side spokes. This left them a bit, let's say, "wavy." Did I compromise them or are they good to go?
