I once rode 6,000 miles on tour one summer without a cell phone and the internet. The following year I did two 7 week, solo tours without one. Never needed a rescue.
As my iPhone 6S grows older and less current (haha) I find that it discharges ever faster with each new OS release, which I personally feel is dishonorable on Apple's part.
