Is there any safety advantage to riding at certain times of day, or days of the week/year?
Commuting runs from 6:30 to 8:30AM and 3:00 to 6:30PM depending on the job assignment. For fun when it is warm(+50) and sunny. If friends are along +40 and cloudy or better. Early Sunday morning seems to be the safest. The most fun for me (an adrenaline junkie) is rush hour around sunset. My lights are strong enough to command a place in traffic and I get to blast past cars. Riding legal freeway shoulders is good too when it is not wet.
