Do it calmly, and as deliberately as possible. It gets the point across. And is less stressing on yourself.
Alternatively, if they pass you and yell "Get off the road!" or similar, give them a friendly wave and yell, "HI!!" as if you thought they'd been offering a friendly greeting. Nothing more frustrating for someone trying to intimidate you than thinking you took the exact opposite message.
