A friend in high school went hog wild renting his tux for the Prom. Powder blue, wide, wide satin lapels, ruffled shirt with ruffled cuffs, enormous blue velvet bow tie. It went with his mid-70s long hair and sideburns.
I worked in a tux rental shop in the late '70s. I'm familiar with that look as well as many more.
