Wait a minute. This is either a trick or you need to study a bit more about CVTs. You don't shift gears with one, the CVT does that for you based on your speed, but in better pratice then that gawd-aweful "Auto-shift" rear derailluer that has been pushed on infomercials for years. The acronym stands for a short definition of the device, continously varible transmission.

That and I recall a CVT for bicycles advertised in the back of Popular Mechanics and Boys' Life back in the '80s.
