The reason I built the bike up this way is I was just using the parts I had on hand or happened to come by locally for cheap or free after wearing out the previous set of wheels tires gravel grinding.. The cassete is nice because it is lighter and bit more crisp and study than a freewheel and as said gives me three gearing options.and with the nice triple converted to single crank set I have a tone of front chain ring options ranging from the mid 20's to mid 50's if I ever want to change things up.
