We live in odd times. There is a small but very loud group of people who believe that credentials, experience, and expertise are irrelevant -- or that they actually make a person's recommendations even more dubious, as they may have been brainwashed or are part of a conspiracy. Not surprisingly, these loud people typically have little education and expertise, and hence have no idea what they are talking about and no idea how the experts became experts.
