I've yet to tour on them, but have had them set up on two bikes. On a fatbike in winter and some summer trail riding, fun but a lot of body position changing all the time, so a different experience. Had them on my commuter also for a summer, so more similar to touring and I found the multiple hand positions not bad, even for strong headwinds. Not the same as long multiple days, but for mixed surface touring, I'm fairly confident they'd work.
$till a drop at fan for most touring.
