No argument there. More of Canada than many folks realize is well south of 49 degrees. That includes nearly all of the Gaspe Peninsula and Newfoundland south of Gander and Corner Brook (both of which surprised me when I looked at the map in more detail).

Many don't realize it, but pretty much all of the US/Canada border east of the Mississippi River (e.g., everything east of the western Lake Superior/49th parallel junction) is south of 49 degrees - including the northernmost point of Maine in Aroostook County, just across Kelly Rapids from Pohenegamook, Quebec. Some of that northern border is well south of 49 degrees.

And FWIW, what appear to be the southernmost points in Ontario (Pt Pelee National Park and Pelee Island near Windsor) do in fact seem to be south of 42 degrees latitude.

Not giving you a hard time. I've found geography and maps fascinating since an early age.
