I was going to suggest a Bob for your bike. Suspended mountain bikes really aren't ideal for mounting racks.

You'll absolutely LOVE your Bob by the time you get gack. Everything packs easier and you don't have to spend so much time making sure it's as compact as possible.

Be SURE to carry a spare tire and a couple of spare tubes.
