I don't think it's an exaggeration to say the Sugino Aero Tour revolutionized bicycle gearing in the early 1980s. Combining the common standard 110 BCD with a true third climbing chainring brought touring quality gears to the general cycling population that didn't have access to a shop with a well-stocked TA board. And the cranks inspired by the AT still serve to this day. I've had a set of ATs since the early 80s - they're currently in storage, but many memories of long rides and steep climbs.
