I'm very surprised when I see people on bicycles without mudguards around London. Which, weirdly, is a lot of bikes, especially road ones. These bicycles just look wrong to me, as someone mentioned before, strangely naked.
Still lusting after metal mudguards (like the ones pictured few posts above), especially Gilles Berthoud. I like the mounting of the front one, at least in the photos. All my mudguards were modified to a similar, though handmade, mounting system going inside the steerer tube before I was aware someone actually makes a mounting system like that. Eventually setled with black Bluemels as a mudguard of choice. They are some kind of thin plastic, but a very resilient one and are also much lighter than steel mudguards.
