The last year for Reynolds tubing on the ATBs was 1984. So that's probably an '84 with an '85 paint/decal makeover (which is not unheard-of with Treks of that time). Might possibly be an 890. But those components don't match any ATB models from '83-'85. So although they may be cool components, they're not original.
The 970 was the top of Trek's 1993 line (not including the beer cans).
I worked at a Trek dealer in that era. Trek would do warranty repair on frames BITD and the customer would have the option of any current year paint and decal.
