Longer shifters for an easier, faster shift while on that rough stuff and not wanting any more time than absolutely needed with one hand off the bars. And the oval wheels - carefully shaped to match the cobbles. Rim goes all over the place while the hub runs a straight and level line. (Now that paved stuff gets a little rough.)
